The phrase “mixer test” makes a lot of people nervous – but it is simply a quick health check for your bridle. An easy way to see if everything is in order or out of whack. The mixer refers to the pulley and bright yellow pulley line system between the bridle lines and flying lines. It is adjustable allowing you to easily correct any bad flying characteristics and keep your kites flying perfectly for longer.
It is important to note that your flying lines should be equal before doing any testing. The yellow pulley lines (Spare Part Lines) also shrink over time and it is advised that you replace them once a season. Getting your kite to fly correctly when the pulley lines are 20cm shorter than they should be (100cm and 120cm). We recommend replacing these as a starting point on fixing a kite which is not flying properly.
Performing the Mixer Test
Once lines A, B and C are at the same level you have reset the mixer. On older kites where the bridle has stretched, this may not mean the kite is flying perfectly. You can tweak the mixer from this level to adjust the flying characteristics.
