This weekend we were down in Exmouth for the Edge Race Cup. This has been one of our favourite events for the last few years. This year international Flysurfer team rider Florian Gruber was back to defend his title. The weather was all over the place with light but inconsistent winds and frequent showers. Early afternoon the wind picked up and the foil fleets headed out and ran four races. Some headed out to freeride too and test new gear (Steve from Southend Kitesurfing testing the 12m Speed 5 pictured below).
The wind dropped off that evening and focus switched to the food and enjoying the sunset on the beach. The party then moved to a local venue for plenty of beer and live music.
Sunday started again with very little wind. A breeze picked up and a couple of races were run. Florian was racing on his 18m SONIC FR all weekend. After the six races the results were in and Flo managed a place on the podium with Exmouth locals Olly and Guy Bridge in first and second place.
